Project Background

Based in Dallas, Georgia, The Blind Depot has been providing the highest quality custom window blinds and shutters to the metro Atlanta area since 1986. The Blind Depot contacted Captivate Search Marketing for help with its online presence, which was quite fractured and unoptimized, in August of 2012.

The Project Challenge

There were multiple challenges facing this SEO project, starting with the fact that The Blind Depot had multiple websites directly competing with one another. Knowing that they needed to freshen the look and feel of a “canned” big box website solution they purchased in previous years, The Blind Depot’s issues were further complicated when they discovered they did not own either of the domains registered with their canned website solutions. Without paying far too much to purchase one of the existing domains – neither of which held any major rank authority – we had to start fresh, building their new website on a brand new domain.

The ROI Focused Solution

As with any local organic SEO project, we first started with keyword discovery, identifying all appropriate keyword targets that would drive the most qualified website visitors to the new Blind Depot website. We then designed and developed a new SEO-friendly website for The Blind Depot, complete with new optimized Meta Tags, URLs, and on-page content built around our targeted keyword list.

Once the new website was in place, the solution for higher local organic search placement for The Blind Depot also required that we bring together their fractured web presence and eliminate the other two competing websites by cancelling the contracts of the canned website solutions and choosing one phone number to utilize for local SEO citations.

Without undergoing a comprehensive ongoing SEO strategy, the initial on-site optimization for this local SEO project has served The Blind Depot quite well, as it saw a steady increase of organic search traffic over the first six months of the new site being live.
