Captivate isn’t a large agency where you’ll be just another cog in the machine. We are a small, award-winning agency experiencing rapid growth, and we are looking for a full-time Account Executive to join our team.
About You:
If you want to coast on process and pass problems up the chain, this job is not for you. We’re looking for a sharp, self-directed operator who owns the client relationship from first email to final deliverable — someone who anticipates what’s coming before it arrives, communicates with confidence, and takes real pride in keeping accounts running like clockwork. You’ve got a point of view, you’re not afraid to share it, and you know how to push back diplomatically when the scope starts creeping.
Primary Job Responsibilities of the Account Executive Role:
- Own the day-to-day client relationship across assigned accounts — you’re the first call when something is due, delayed, or needs clarification
- Lead weekly status calls: set the agenda, run the meeting, follow up with tight, actionable recaps
- Author, assign, and manage project tasks in Basecamp; keep timelines accurate and team members accountable
- Write SOWs, project briefs, and proposals with limited senior oversight
- Track burn rates and budget pacing across active projects; flag risks before they become surprises
- Manage feedback rounds and revision cycles without letting scope creep go unchecked
- Shepherd projects through the full creative development and production process
- Oversee monthly digital marketing reporting delivery; ensure accuracy and on-time distribution
- Partner with executive leadership to match internal talent and contractor resources to client needs
- Surface strategic recommendations to clients — not just status updates
- Mentor and delegate to the Jr. Account Coordinator; model the behavior you’d want to see
- Occasional hands-on support with digital campaigns including keyword analysis, content organization, and campaign trafficking
Account Executive Skills & Requirements:
- A 4-year degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 2–4 years of account management or client-facing agency experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously without dropping a ball
- Exceptional written and verbal communication — client-ready, every time
- Strong command of project management tools; Basecamp experience a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
- A solutions-first mindset: you bring proposed answers, not just problems
- Demonstrated ability to navigate scope, timeline, and client conflict with composure
- Familiarity with SEO, paid search, or digital marketing fundamentals preferred
